HUMANITY - Of decoration, services and duty
Should we be decorated for performing our duty and for services rendered to people or our motherland or for humanity at large? For many people, the answer will be a big YES. If such is the case, then it is one more proof that the child has not grown up. Had it not been for the sake of name, fame, wealth and other such advantages, how many people would do social works or offer help and ‘services’ as they call it?
We form part of a homogeneous network, which is meant for the welfare of one and all, and our duty, born out of wisdom, is to see to it that each one of us grows both materially and spiritually. But that is far from being the case. People fight for the survival of their ego, and the expectation to acquire name, fame and wealth forms part of that expectation. What is uglier is that many of those who are decorated do not deserve it; they are henchmen of politicians or still leaders of social, cultural or religious groups. Some even lobby for a medal. Shame on them!

Laws ! Laws! Laws!
Laws are iniquitous! In a not faraway future, it will not be possible to step out of your house without satisfying a law. The blame is not totally on the rulers, however. What can they do? After all, their knowledge is limited to that only. The whole of society is responsible. People are undisciplined, irresponsible, barbaric, unconscious and selfish, and rulers know no other way than passing laws. Educating the mass would be against their interest.
Some people think that with laws we can enjoy liberty. What an illusion! My understanding is that laws make one robot-like, or a slave. You do not act spontaneously or intelligently, but rather for fear of the laws of the country. The Minister of Social Security and National Solidarity talked about a “world of liberty under the law, a world of democracy capable of providing its citizens with both order and liberty, safeguarding human rights and using force when is necessary as in the case of curfew to uphold local laws” (L’express 03/11/2009 – Straight Talk in Juvenile Justice).

Apart from man, everything in existence forms a beautiful unity. For instance, water’s ‘waterness’is due to the unity of hydrogen and oxygen in the H2O molecule. The unity amongst all parts of nature and the constant exchange of information keep the whole world moving and also give each object or force its own specific characteristics. The sun gives light because of the unity of its particles. Similarly, the miracle of the human body is due to the unity of its cells, which are constantly exchanging energy. It is as if they have a team spirit with the aim of being a whole in harmony and in good health.
If nature is creative, beautiful and affluent, it is all due to the unity of all its elements and forces in its womb. In nature, the saying, “United we stand, divided we fall” really applies. The whole of nature shares a common aim : growth, peace, harmony and procreation, which are meant to serve as a base so that man can evolve into Divinity. But man is ignorant, arrogant, undisciplined and mad. If only we could have the same unity, team spirit and exchange of information and energy ! This is possible solely when we share a common vision or aim. What is the ultimate and true aim of human beings ? Science says that the aim of every moving object is to attain a state of perfect rest or equilibrium. This corresponds to the mystical experience where ultimately it is realised that man is a state of ineffable peace, which is also the essence of matter.
